Lion's Mane Extract

Hericium erinaceus — fruiting-body extract standardised for beta-glucan content, supplied for cognitive and nerve-support formulations.

≥20% beta-glucans 500–1000mg trade dose ref. COA per batch
Overview

Fruiting-body extract, with erinacine testing available on request.

Lion's Mane extract is supplied from fruiting body rather than mycelium-on-grain, standardised to ≥20% beta-glucans — the polysaccharide marker most commonly used to grade medicinal mushroom potency. It's steady demand from both capsule-format buyers and the growing functional-coffee category, where it's blended directly into ground coffee or instant sachets.

Available as a standard powder or an 8:1 concentrated extract. Every batch carries a certificate of analysis confirming beta-glucan content, and erinacine/hericenone testing can be arranged on request for buyers formulating specifically around nerve-growth-factor claims. See Quality Assurance for the full testing process.

Cognitive & nerve-support formulas

The primary use case — often paired with L-Theanine or Alpha-GPC in nootropic and focus-support stacks.

Functional coffee & instant blends

Steady demand from cafes and functional-coffee brands blending Lion's Mane directly into ground or instant coffee formats.

Sourcing & ethics

Where it comes from, and how we hold that to a standard.

Trade buyers increasingly need to answer sourcing questions themselves — here's what we can tell you about this specific ingredient.

GMP-certified processing

Grown and processed at a GMP-certified facility in China, audited on our own schedule rather than taken on trust from a spec sheet — see Quality Assurance.

Fruiting-body verified

Every batch is verified as fruiting-body material, not the cheaper mycelium-on-grain biomass sometimes used to bulk out lower-grade Lion's Mane products.

Commercially cultivated

Lion's Mane is grown on substrate blocks rather than wild-collected, which supports supply consistency without pressure on wild fungal populations.

Batch traceability

Every batch is traceable back to its growing facility and production run — ask if you need this documented for your own supply-chain due diligence.

Common questions

Lion's Mane, answered.

Fruiting body only. Mycelium-on-grain material can carry residual starch from the growing substrate, which dilutes the actual beta-glucan content — the certificate of analysis confirms fruiting-body sourcing.

Standard COAs report beta-glucan content, since that's the specification most buyers formulate against. Erinacine/hericenone testing — the compounds specifically linked to nerve-growth-factor research — can be arranged on request for buyers who need that data point for a specific formulation claim.

Both are standardised to ≥20% beta-glucans. The 8:1 extract is more concentrated by weight — 8kg of raw fruiting body reduced to 1kg of extract — useful if you need a smaller fill weight per capsule at the same active dose.

It follows the standard Starter tier from 1–10kg/month — see Wholesale & Trade Accounts for the full tier structure.

It's generally well tolerated with no significant common interactions — see the Safety & Risk Information above for the few considerations that do apply. This isn't medical advice; consumer-facing products should still carry appropriate guidance.
